The Journey
Origin of the Series
This project began without a brief or agenda, just a desire to reconnect with the street. I wandered through the Financial District during early dawns, capturing moments when the city felt like it exhaled before waking.
Emotional Intention
The work wasn’t about documentation, it was about tension. I wanted to photograph stillness inside chaos. Shadows stretching across pavement, people lost in thought, glass buildings reflecting nothing but clouds.
Unexpected Discovery
What I found wasn’t just geometry, it was rhythm. From crosswalk patterns to fire escapes casting long shadows, the city had a silent visual pulse waiting to be framed.

Visual Language
Geometry meets emotion.
Stylistic Direction
Every shot embraced contrast, between human presence and architectural dominance. I leaned into black & white edits to strip away distraction and spotlight form, space, and texture.
Tools & Techniques
Using a compact mirrorless camera with a 35mm prime lens, I kept my gear light. Most shots were candid. No staging, no retakes. Natural light and sharp lines did the work.
